May God give you the serenity {tranquility, composure} to accept what you cannot change: 1 Peter 1:6-7 “In this [our inheritance & salvation, vs. 3-5] you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith – of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire – may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
May God give you the courage {braveness, boldness} to change the things you can: 2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” 2 Timothy 1:6-7 “For this reason [your sincere faith, vs. 5] I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you … For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
May God give you the wisdom {understanding, insight} to know the difference: Proverbs 3:5, 4:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget My words or turn away from them.” 2 Corinthians 2:4-7 “My (apostle Paul) message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom…”
