“Jesus asked this only to test him, for He already had in mind what He was going to do.” John 6:6

So then why do we pray if God already has in mind what He is going to do?

He is allowed to test us. Why do we take tests in school? Evidence of how much we have learned. Evidence to both the teacher and the student. It is evidence of our belief in Him, of our trust that He is listening, and our reverent fear of the one and only Sovereign God. It is conversation with God, as we must listen too – choosing to listen and obey.

“And when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” James 1:6

I challenge you today, to read John 6:1-15 and James 1:1-8, studying the context to fully understand what Jesus is teaching, and what He is saying to you.

Embrace the tests and grow!
